Glenview House Offers Holiday Menus for the Jewish New Year

August 16, 2012

The Jewish New Year has been associated with gathering friends and family to feast on traditional food in hopes of a “Sweet New Year.” For the second year, Glenview House invites guests and loved ones to enjoy Rosh Hashanah and the Yom Kippur “Break Fast” menus this September.

While keeping in mind the Jewish New Year food traditions, Chef Grant Slauterbeck has put a twist on these customary recipes with a Rosh Hashanah four course menu.

Rosh Hashanah Prix Fixe
First Course
Chicken consommé with house made matzo balls, classic mirepoix

Second Course
Roasted apple and pomegranate salad, sugared almonds, baby bibb lettuce and spinach, gorgonzola snow, orange blossom honey vinaigrette

Third Course
Brisket and two beef roulade, oven baked red skin potatoes, roasted broccoli puree, Maddi’s bubee carmelized onion broth

Fourth Course
Grilled carrot cake muffin with cream cheese and honey frosting, orange confit

Chef Slauterbeck has also created a Yom Kippur “Break Fast” feast for diners to joyfully share at sundown. The traditionally dairy dinner will include assorted salads (albacore tuna, egg and smoked chicken), roasted red pepper and artichoke quiche, smoked salmon with accompaniments, crackers, breads, juice and coffee.

Both dinners can be enjoyed in Glenview House’s upstairs dining room complete with white table cloths and candles. The menus are also available for carryout. The Rosh Hashanah menu will be available beginning Sunday, September 16 through Tuesday, September 18. The Yom Kippur “Break Fast” menu will be available on Wednesday, September 26.

The Rosh Hashanah menu is priced at $30 per person (not including tax and gratuity) and the Yom Kippur menu is priced at $14 per person (not including tax and gratuity).
