The CryoBar is Celebrating its 1 Year Anniversary in Bucktown and Announces a 3rd Location in the West Loop This May

The CryoBar is celebrating this month! The premier full-service Cryotherapy spa is commemorating the 1st Anniversary at its Bucktown location at 1917 N. Damen Avenue. Throughout the month of April, Cryo-fanatics can visit the Bucktown hotspot for a chance to enter in a huge giveaway from local stores and restaurants. The more you cryo the better your chances to win! On April 22, the winners will be announced on Instagram and Facebook @thecryobar. The CryoBar is also offering a cool Anniversary special, which includes four chills for $160 (normally $65 per chill).

The CryoBar is also thrilled to announce that its 3rd location will open in the West Loop at 1215 W. Madison Street this May. The new facility will feature all of the best Cryotherapy services currently offered at the Bucktown and Lincoln Park locations with the addition of Compression Therapy and the city’s first full spectrum EMF rating private Sauna room.

A Hoppin’ “BBQ Brunch Buffet” on Easter Sunday at Rack House

Rack House Kitchen & Tavern, will open its doors (and smoker!) on Easter Sunday serving up Chef Bryant Anderson’s BBQ-inspired holiday dishes. As recently seen on WGN-TV’s Chicago’s Best “Best of Bacon” episode, Chef Bryant will showcase his house-smoked swine, salmon, honey glazed ham and prime rib all served buffet-style.

Guests of all ages can feast on the brunch buffet with plenty of kid-friendly choices. Adults can enjoy $4 Bloody Mary and Mimosa specials.

From Beach to Boards: CrossTown Fitness Heads to North Avenue Beach for Total Body Beach Training & Stand Up Paddle Boarding

CrossTown Fitness makes a splash for its 6th summer teaming up with Chicago SUP, the city’s elite Stand-Up Paddle Boarding company. Summer fitness-goers can head to North Avenue Beach to enhance their total body workout right under the Chicago summer sun.

This year, CTF’s Community Director Stephanie Rountree will lead an hour and a half intense conditioning workout focusing on speed, agility and power. The Total Body Beach Training will kickoff the morning with a 45-minute high intensity interval-training workout on the sand followed by 45-minutes of endurance, stamina, strength and balance during Stand-Up Paddle Boarding on Lake Michigan.

All fitness levels are invited to take part in strength training and cardio routines on the sand. Each drill is scalable and incorporates just the right amount of cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength and flexibility.

CTF Stand-Up Paddle Boarding
Every Saturday 8:30 a.m.-9:15 a.m.
$10 with CTF Unlimited Membership; $25 Non Member Drop-in
Attendees will paddle with a single bladed paddle while standing on oversized surfboards. SUP heightens balance, leg strength, coordination and stability all while taking in the breathtaking Chicago skyline.

CTF Members will also have access to discounted rentals Monday through Friday from 6 to 8 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

CTF Total Body Beach Training classes will be every Saturday beginning June 8 through September 28.

Chicago SUP hut is located south of Castaways Bar and Grill on North Avenue Beach. Classes are weather permitting.


Calling All Campers! CrossTown Fitness’ New Kid’s Summer Camp.

This summer kids can have fun while breaking a sweat at Chicago’s premier HIIT gym, CrossTown Fitness! Parents can drop off and pick up their kids at CTF’s newest location in Roscoe Village for two hours of team activities, exercise, interactive talks, healthy snacks and more.

Over the week’s course, grade school aged kids will be provided the tools to learn and establish their own healthy habits from staying active, eating healthy and respecting themselves and others.

A typical camp afternoon includes-
Introductions: Ice breaker activities, team building
Workout: Explain movements/format, warm up, exercise, cool down and clean up
Recovery Time: Stretch, snack and be social
Interactive Talk:  Importance of health, fitness, eating healthy
Team Activity: Break up into teams and workout
Question of the Day: Reflection on topics covered that day

Camp will take place Monday through Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. Registration is available now.
