Celebrate Crab Fest at Bobby’s & Café Lucci During National Crab Day

National Crab Day is March 9 and sister restaurants Bobby’s (Lincoln Park and Deerfield) and Café Lucci (Glenview) will celebrate with the most succulent and impressive Alaskan King Crab legs. Owner/Chef Augie Arifi will bake the sweet crab legs in garlic butter, sure to excite any shellfish lover. The restaurants will also showcase their most popular crab dishes all week long.

The Crab Fest Alaskan King Crab baked in garlic butter will be available by the pound for $45/lb.

Other crab dishes include Ceviche with shrimp and lump crab meat; Crab Cakes made lump crab; and add Oscar style to any steak or chop made with lump crabmeat and béarnaise.

In addition to the Crab Fest options, the regular menus at all three restaurants will be available.

The Alaskan King Crab and Crab Specials will be available Wednesday, March 6-Sunday, March 10 available for lunch and dinner.

Broken Barrel Bar & Rack House Host New Year’s Day Pajamas Brunch

Sister restaurants Broken Barrel Bar, the new Lincoln Park hotspot, and Rack House, the BBQ smokehouse in Arlington Heights, invite New Year’s revelers of all ages to roll out of bed and start 2019 with a Pajamas Brunch!

There’s no better time than New Year’s Day for the whole family to dress in their most comfortable, silly or favorite bedtime attire and fill their bellies with hearty brunch and drink specials.

Broken Barrel Bar
Chef Bryant Anderson’s in-house smoked meats pile on a hangover sandwich and homemade pickled vegetables will be the stars of the Bloody Mary Bar, sure to cure any morning-aftermath. Menu highlights include:

Smoked Lamb Benedict Fresh baked biscuits, slow-smoked lamb shoulder, creamy hollandaise sauce, two over easy eggs, maple-sriracha drizzle & micro cilantro $14

For the restaurant’s 3rd annual Pajamas Brunch, adults can sit back and relax as they “cheers” to 2019 with $4 Mimosas and $4 Bloody Marys. Guests can order from Chef Bryant Anderson’s one-day-only New Year’s Day Menu including:

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes with whipped vanilla cream cheese butter $10

Waffle Breakfast Nachos with crispy waffle chips, bacon, scrambled eggs, scallions, melted cheese, crispy onions $11

Hangover Breakfast Sandwich with smoked brisket, fried egg, Merkts cheddar, arugula, tomato and crispy onions piled high on a toasted pretzel bun $12

Broken Barrel Bar’s weekend brunch menu and Rack House’s weekend brunch menu will also be available during Pajamas Brunch. Rack House will open at 10am and Broken Barrel will open at 11am on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2019.


Two Free Weeks of Classes for the Holidays at CrossTown Fitness

Just because it’s the holiday season doesn’t mean you can’t start working towards your 2019 fitness goals. CrossTown Fitness (CTF) is encouraging Chicagoans to head over to one of their three convenient locations (West Loop, NorthSide and Roscoe Village) before the New Year’s ball drops for two weeks of FREE 50-minute Total Body Classes.

CTF offers 200 different classes per week in an energizing and motivating environment. The team of experienced trainers will lead the high-intensity interval training classes which are scalable to all fitness levels, setting everyone up for success and helping all feel comfortable.

Free classes start December 17 through December 31, 2018. Classes can be booked through CrossTown Fitness’ free App or website.

North Shore Hotspot Bobby’s Restaurant Now Open in Lincoln Park

Bobby, Augie and Tim Arifi, owners of Bobby’s Restaurant Group (Bobby’s Deerfield and Cafe Lucci in Glenview), have opened their second Bobby’s restaurant location in the new luxury ELEVATE residential building, at 2518 N. Lincoln Ave. The bi-level American bistro boasts a creative and seasonal menu with an emphasis on USDA certified Prime steaks, fresh seafood from around the world, handmade pastas and scratch made desserts. The bar features classic, craft and exclusive barrel-aged cocktails along with an extensive wine list.

The Arifis, who opened Bobby’s Deerfield six years ago, were approached by one of the restaurant’s frequent diners, Dan Slack, principal at Baker Development, to open his favorite North Shore restaurant in his new Lincoln Park building, ELEVATE. “When Dan asked if we’d like to open a Bobby’s in the city it was an instant ‘Yes’. We couldn’t be more excited to fulfill our dream and be a part of the Lincoln Park neighborhood,” comments Bobby.

As guests arrive at Bobby’s Lincoln Park they will come face-to-face with a massive custom mural created by Miami-based artist Gregory Christakis. The 8 by 6 foot masterpiece pays homage to Bobby and Augie’s late father and beloved restaurateur. The first floor of Bobby’s houses an intimate bar, comfortable dining room seating 130 guests and a private room accommodating up to 30 people. The second level showcases another private room with seating up to 40 guests, secured with sleek electric doors for the most remote dining events.

Bobby’s brother, Executive Chef Augie Arifi, and Chef de Cuisine Miguel Solorio stay true to the Deerfield location’s signature dishes along with a selection of items that are exclusive to the Lincoln Park outpost. Menu highlights include:

Duck Wings, smoked, roasted, sweet and spicy Thai sauce

Scallops, sea scallops, cauliflower potato puree, paprika, burnt butter, micro greens, orange zest

Octopus Carpaccio, California extra virgin olive oil, garlic, lemon confit

Bobby’s Lincoln Park is now open. Hours of operation include Monday-Thursday 4-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 4-11 p.m; and Sunday 4-9 p.m. Bobby’s serves dinner only followed by lunch launching in December.
