Hey Nonny Opens the Suburbs’ Only “A Christmas Story” Pop-Up During the Holiday Season

The popular Midwest Bistro + Live Music Venue, Hey Nonny, is paying tribute to the holiday classic, “A Christmas Story” with over-the-top vintage décor, like the famous leg lamp and flag pole, and movie-inspired food and drink. The downtown Arlington Heights hotspot will play the movie regularly throughout the event going on now until New Year’s Eve.

Chef Tony Hernandez has put together a “A Christmas Story” menu including:
Doggone Turkey bacon-wrapped stuffed turkey breast
Meatloaf Smeetloaf meatloaf in red sauce with mashed potatoes and green beans
Fa-La-La-La-La Fried Rice in a pagoda box with chopsticks
Earful of Lobster lobster bisque
Holiday Pot de Creme very chocolate pudding

Along with movie-themed cocktails:
Triple Dog Dare bourbon, Rumchata and eggnog
Ovaltine Hot vanilla vodka, Creme de Menthe and hot cocoa
Electric Sex spiced rum, apple cider, and pear nectar
Eyeball Shot Fireball whiskey

Holiday enthusiasts can visit the “A Christmas Story” pop-up at Hey Nonny during dinner and weekend brunch. Reservations for large groups are recommended.

The “A Christmas Story” Pop-up runs now through December 30. Hours include Tues-Thurs 4:30-11 p.m., Fri 4:30 p.m.-12 a.m., Sat 10 a.m.-12 a.m., and Sun 10 a.m.-3 p.m

CrossTown Fitness Partners with Buddha Belly Kids Yoga

CrossTown Fitness has teamed up with the popular Buddha Belly Kids Yoga to host three Family Yoga Classes while bringing holiday cheer to those in need. Each of the three CrossTown Fitness locations (West Loop, NorthSide and Roscoe Village) will host a Family Yoga Class that is FREE for families who bring in a new toy donation. The toys collected at each class will benefit Lurie Children’s and Northwestern Hospitals this holiday season.

Each CrossTown Fitness location will continue the Toy Drive, helping both hospitals, throughout the month of December. CTF members and community residents can drop off new toys in the studios’ festive toy bins.

About Buddha Belly Kids Yoga
Buddha Belly Kids Yoga is a mobile yoga company founded by educators and dedicated to nurturing kids’ innate desire for movement and play. The Family Yoga Classes will explore yoga through poses, breath-work, and relaxation techniques while encouraging creativity and fun. The class also provides the medium for families to unplug and bond in the most playful of ways. Adults and children will interact through moving, breathing, and connecting. The Family Class is open to parents, caregivers, children, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. This class is designed for families with children ages 2-8 years; however all ages are most welcome!

CrossTown Fitness offers Two Weeks of FREE Fitness Classes during the Holidays

CrossTown Fitness invites Chicagoans to tackle the holiday splurge and jumpstart their 2020 fitness goals with FREE classes from December 17 through 31. Gym fanatics and beginners can head over to one of CTF’s three convenient locations, in the West Loop, NorthSide and Roscoe Village, for two weeks of FREE 50-minute Total Body Classes.

CTF offers 200+ different classes per week in an energizing and motivating environment. The team of elite trainers lead the high-intensity interval training (HIIT) classes which are scalable to all fitness levels, setting everyone up for success and helping all feel comfortable. Attendees can also take advantage of CTF’s showers, childcare and café offering a variety of protein smoothies and food/drink items from local vendors.

Guests looking to take advantage of these free workout classes can use the promo code: “FeelGood:)” at checkout on the CTF free app or through the studios’ website. This promo code will zero out the cost of a CTF day-pass (normally $30).

The CTF Free Classes are from December 17-31, 2019. All locations will be closed December 24-26. Classes can be booked through the CrossTown Fitness free app or website.
